Besides rectangles, boundaries van have polygon shapes as well. For the moment convex polygons are fully supported.
TRAFIC will automatically divide the move over the appropriate machines, based on the parameter setting entered to achieve the desired move split.
As a straightforward example the move from an RTG stack to a quay crane can be considered. First a prime mover (with previously assigned chassis) will receive an instruction to drive to the appropriate RTG interchange lane. After confirming its arrival, the RTG driver will select the instruction for that prime mover and will load the container on the chassis. As a next step the PM will receive an instruction to drive to the planned quay crane.
TRAFIC incorporates a functionality for so called 'housekeeping' (HK). The dispatcher can set up rules to be used for HK, such as container characteristics, area from, area to, etc. The dispatcher can assign specific equipment to HK tasks, or equipment can be assigned automatically from the moment it has no other moves to be executed.
Yes indeed, the dispatcher can manually assign an instruction to a particular machine at any given time.
