New Projects Going Live in Europe, Africa and South America
Cosmos is proud to announce the successful start-up of several new projects. PSA Sines, a terminal in the south of Portugal, was the most recent one to go live on the Cosmos Application Suite. Earlier this year, Cornelder de Mozambique in Beira and the brand-new MSC Terminal in Valencia (Spain) already started up successfully. In addition, when SAPO turned a former multipurpose terminal into a container facility, they also decided to equip it with the Cosmos Application Suite. In the next few weeks, two other projects will also be completed: Portonave in Navegantes, Brazil, and VTE in Genoa, Italy.
With these six new installations, 2007 looks set to become another successful business year for Cosmos!
SHIPS 7.0: The Newest Version of the Cosmos Vessel Planning System
Cosmos proudly announces the availability of the latest version of its vessel planning program: SHIPS 7.0. This version is the next step in delivering high performance and enterprise features that have been under development for the last several months.
Major highlights of this enhanced version include more flexible and customizable planning procedures, such as semi-automatic partial planning, depending on a number of user-definable planning parameters and algorithms. This partial planning combines the swiftness and ease of automatic planning with the flexibility of manual planning, granting you a faster planning process in which you can still intervene whenever necessary.
Another one of the important novelties is that SHIPS 7.0 can be operated as an independent stand-alone product.
SHIPS 7.0 gives you the possibility to handle larger vessels (of up to 5 sections) with up to 29 container rows and 15 layers (per deck).
We also added a number of very convenient features speeding up the overall planning process, freeing up precious time: the extra validation of stack weight, improved shifter calculation, the detection of restow conflicts, shifting between manual and automatic sequencing per work queue, etc.
